I have always involved my self with creative activities; pen, pencil, brush and knife in hand ready to attack paper, cardboard, or whatever came to hand, and make something that didn’t previously exist. Art was my favorite subject at school, and since then I have expanded my craft to include suits of armour.
After many years of work that didn’t have any prominent creative elements, I thought “stuff it!” and enrolled in the Foundation Course leading into the Diploma in Communication Arts at the D&A, with the desire to expand my skill base, gain knowledge and fulfill my creative ambitions.
Throughout the Courses, I have found that design is a complex discipline ranging from target market profiling to problem solving. Inbetween theres a whole range of design and computer skills that have to be learned. There is so much that goes into a successful design outcome and I have really grown to love it. I’m looking forward to get into the industry and apply my skills to the real world and continue to expand my knowledge.
