It was the encouragement of a teacher which spurred me to consider graphic design as a career choice. Although I had always been interested in art and design I really began to enjoy it in Year 12 at school. Being naturally quiet I gained confidence from that encouragement and developed skills and knowledge during those final two years.
I was 17 when I enrolled at the Design and Arts College on their Communication Arts and Design Diploma Course. I have continued to develop not only my skills and knowledge but also my confidence. Having to prepare and present my work to peers, through a critique process, has taught me the value of clear thinking and solid
preparation; invaluable traits
for successful design.
Two years on and I’m ready to apply my skills in the real world and continue to expand my knowledge and gain experience in an industry I look forward to being a part of.
