Prior to studying Graphic Design as a career option, my life has involved a wide range of skills and experiences. As a high achiever I am always looking for challenges to both extend my range of skills and to find a perfect fit to satisfy my creative needs. From retail merchandising to learning the art of cake decorating (something I am still receiving commissions for), the experimental creative curve has led to graduating as a graphic designer ready to advance into the industry.

Design comes in every shape and size. It is relevant to everyone and anything and should not discriminate. It is not just visual,
it is where the imagined
becomes reality.
I was once told “design should be 90% thinking and 10% doing” this is now one of my main design principles. There is a background or meaning behind every dot, line and design element. I like to know the who, where, what, how and why to go on a journey to transform, adapt and create the best design fit for need. It is important to maintain consistency when conveying a brand story across various media platforms, to form an overall identity. I consider design is not just for the visual sense, it needs to stir your emotions as well. The ‘buy-in’ has to be holistic and the experience has to be ‘real’, not just a superficial acknowledgement. Design has to involve intellect and intuition.
